Whereas, There is a lack of qualified, diverse graduates applying to our college districts;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate develop a paper on creative alternatives to encourage a more diverse pool of individuals to pursue and enter a career as a community college faculty member.MSC Disposition: Local Senates

Summary:
Develop a paper on creative alternatives to encourage more diverse pool of individuals to pursue and enter a career as a community college faculty member.
Recommendation:
Dianna wants to take the lead on this. We can tie this to the resolution on a library of questions to use for screening. Get examples of programs that mentor applicants -- SDICCCA, Chaffey College, others. Also include job descriptions, and possibly a link to the Job Registry for California Community Colleges.
Status Report:

EDAC recommends that this is part of the charge of the committee so it is completed. There seems to be plenty of diverse people registered for jobs in The Registry, but there are few jobs available. Newer resolutions from Spring 2010 can replace this one.
